早期生活
[编辑]波特在宾夕法尼亚州匹兹堡出生，父母是威廉·E·波特和克洛琳达·让·约翰逊·波特·福特。[2] [3] 他的姐姐是MaryMartha Ford-Dieng。[4] [5][6] 进入Reizenstein中学后，Porter就读于Taylor Allderdice高中，然后是匹兹堡创意与表演艺术学校，并于1987年毕业。[7]他毕业于卡内基·梅隆大学美术学院，获得戏剧学学士学位，并获得了加州大学洛杉矶分校编剧专业研究生水平[8]的认证。
1985年至1987年夏天，波特是一个名为“Flash”的娱乐团体的成员，该团体每天在宾夕法尼亚州西米夫林的肯尼伍德公园进行表演。[9]
