dont you think that using the term 中东 is shameful? i by using this term, you are basically admiting that china is in fact not at the centre of the universe and that europe is. if china was in fact at the centre, shouldnt the middle east be refered to as the middle west? as it is the midpoint to the west.

如果中东是中东的话呢就表示中国不是中国。如果中国是在中间的话呢中东就应该是中西。

和英文版本有所出入

在本條目的「地理概述」一項中提到：

“「中東」是一個嚴格的地理術語。”

但英文版本的內容和中文版本中的「嚴格」有點出入，文中指出「中東」一詞，並無清晰或公認的定義，以下轉貼英文版本以作參考： The Middle East is a historical and geographical region of Africa-Eurasia with no clear definition; it traditionally includes countries or regions in Southwest Asia and parts of North Africa.

以下一段亦指出其『定義不明確而經常引起抨擊』： Many have criticized the term for a number of reasons, often due to its loose definition. The United Nations avoids the phrase entirely and officially refers to the region as "Southwest Asia," while other critics advise using the more general "West Asia."

本人並非相關專業人士，希望有心人能查證那一個說法比較正確，謝謝。

不該以歐洲中心用語當條目

中東既是個歐洲中心用語，亞洲語言的頁面就不該再使用為條目名！

強烈建議：

　建立〝中亞〞條目，將此內容複製過去。

　將〝中東〞條目重新導向到〝中亞〞條目去。
