紅頭弓背蟻（學名：Camponotus singularis）屬於蟻科蟻亞科弓背蟻屬，是一種大型弓背蟻。

描述

該物種沒有兵蟻，工蟻只有大小分化，大型工蟻頭部肌肉特化，擁有極其強悍的咬合力。^[4]^[5] 工蟻體型約為 8.6mm至 19mm左右，蟻后體型約為 22mm左右。^[6]

如名所意。該物種的頭部呈現紅色，其他部位主要呈現暗黑色。^[7] 體表毛髮甚多，具有金屬光澤感，毛髮呈現白色，腹部毛髮最為茂盛。 ^[6]

分佈和習性

紅頭弓背蟻喜歡在陰涼處建巢，它們的巢穴通常建在草原或者森林邊緣上，巢口會有由樹枝搭成類似鳥巢的堆積物。通常由小型工蟻外出覓食。它們的食物包括但不限於：節肢動物屍體，蜜露以及人類吃的食物（除了哺乳動物的肉）。
